Default Clean radar detector mount?

I've got a TPX 2.0 radar detector and I'm looking for a simple clean mount, probably one that uses the clutch perch. I've looked at several mount manufacturers and see all these adjustable arms and such. What I'd really like is a simple riser with a plate (4 hole pattern) . Anyone know what I'm after?

I used the original window mount that the detector slides onto, the one with 2 suction cups. Drilled a single 1/4-inch hole and bolted the bracket to the windshield with a nylon bolt utilizing the suction cups as cushions.

I tried other places to mount the detector but none were suitable. I don't have the audio from it hooked-up to my helmet so could not hear it. Therefore I relied on a visual indication.

With it on the windshield just below eye level, when it 'goes off', it catches my attention immediately.

I'm not familiar with your model of detector so none of this may apply. Mine is an ESCORT Redline.

i've had whistler Cruisader detectors mounted on both my baggers for years. the gauge mounts in inner fairing small gauge hole.

the sensor mounts under and between the lower fork tree with velcro (or anywhere else you'd like to position it )

Thumbs up

I like the Techmount which I use to mount my Valentine One. It's connected to the two bolts that hold the right front controls. See attached pic.

Hey, don't knock it. They are excellent at letting you know you are about to be pulled over. It has been quite a few years since I owned one but the last was supposed to be a jammer as well. Yeah, sure jammed my wallet after a few speeding tickets....

+1 on the Techmount. Not sure what bike you have but they have this for the bars http://www.techmounts.com/products/r...&product_id=70 and also a 1 1/2" if you want to mount on the engine guard.

If you have an RK, I have this on mine for a GPS. Just use the radar piece on it.

For years most LEO's have had such narrow beam Lidar units that generally speaking radar detectors won't really do you much good. Even if your unit will detect what they are currently using, most of them are trained to first visually determine that you are exceeding the speed limit and then activate their equipment. So in other words when your detector goes off is when they are locking in your speed, if your detector ever goes off in the first place.

Another consideration for having a radar detector mounted on a bike is the attitude of the officer if you do get stopped. Some officers will automatically write the ticket when you are using radar detecting equipment, rather than talking to you first and maybe checking your driving record prior to making the final decision. Just saying.......

WELL first of all,, BS.... most don't....i have detectors in both vehicles... the cops in WA OR and CA drive around all day with the radar units on , alerting you to their presence....
ALL DAY.....sitting back in a speed trap targeting cars ,well yea maybe they turn them on and off IDK, but you will still be alerted before ,as they tag someone else 99% of the time....if you dont have or use something maybe you should not be a contributor to the conversation
