muffler joint, pull the slip on off,clean add some exhaust sealant reinstall with new harley clamps and torque to spec. and yes that would account for decal popping.

Many people reuse the exhaust clamps, but they are supposed to be replaced with each use. I've used them twice, but never had much luck getting a seal on 3rd + use.
I have also used a pipe expander to ensure the pipe is not collapsed/out-of-round from over tightening...
I'd take it apart to see if it's cracked. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't. Then, if it isn't, you can seal it up with some high temp Permatex and install a new clamp. Then you're good.
