Not sure why guys shy away from this. The way this all ties back together I believe it's stronger than it was in stock form. The gussets I made tie into the shock mount just like the gusset on the top does from the factory.

It's ultimately your call on which way you decide to go and your money. One of my deciding factors boiled down to a "what if" decision. The fact that the stock belts rarely break doesn't mean that they won't. The odds are more in my favor that a dealer will have the stock belt should I break a belt while out on the road versus the shorter belt.
Evo-industries has a 49 tooth cutch basket.about the same ratio as 30 tooth pulley. But if you are going with the pulley, go with a Baker. 2lbs lighter, anodized billet steel. Or the cast iron,rusty noisier HD part. Aftermarket belts aren't as well made as the stocker. That rusty,abrasive pulley just may wear that belt a bit faster.either way,you will enjoy the lower gearing.
