I though my front left speaker had blown. I took the fairing apart checked the connection to the speaker and that seemed to fix it. Now it seems to be intermittent, in my experience either a speaker distorts or it doesn’t if the problem is with the speaker, but I'm not an expert either. Have you heard of anything causes this, amp, connections, etc? Do you have any recommendations as to what I can check? I thought it might be my MP3 player but it also does it with the CD player.
I also sent this question to Hogtunes thinking they migth be able to give me some direction on this.
I haven't put the stock speakers back in to test it yet either.
Any help at all would be approeciated
03 Ultra Stock stereo with hogtunes speaks front and back.
Thanks
Seems like you have a poor speaker connection either at the speaker or along the wire to the radio. You might "squeeze" the female portion of that connection to make sure the "spade" portion inserts in a very tight way.
The Hogtunes are excellent speakers, BTW. Much heavier and larger diameter magnets and they bolt right up in a jiffy. Big difference in sound quality and volume level needed on the road....I'm sorry I didn't replace my stockers earlier.
I had asimilar problem with an 05 screamin eagle with hogtunes...contacted John at radio sound, soundwould cut in and out. Sent radio in and they replaced it forthere service charge. not a problem after that.
To determine if you have a speaker problem or a radio problem, change leads from one speaker to another usingextra length of wires. If the distortion moves to the other speaker, it's a radio problem.
