If it does rain, it is just that much less water to worry about seeping into places.

Nelson-Rigg makes a light half-cover that packs down to not much more than a 16 oz beer can. Easy on and easy off. About $30.
Yeah, I was looking at those half covers. Something to keep rain out of the speakers and the seat dry. Thanks!

With Safety Man on that on. Worried more about a wet seat.

if you are going to all the trouble to cover your fairing and seat why not cover the whole bike? it can't be any harder and is a good theft deterrent at a hotel

Obviously the OP has never been caught in the rain riding or he wouldn't be worried about it.. I rode thru tropical storm bill last june in texas and bike never skipped a beat nor did the radio.

I use a half cover when I go on road trips and park at motels.

Been caught many times in a downpour. Funny thing is when you are moving, the backside of the fairing stays fairly dry. It's when you park is the problem. I'm thinking of those times when your bike is hot and you're parked at a bar/restaurant knowing it's about to open up. I have been known to stick a microfiber rag in each speaker pod hoping to keep water out. My stereo has survived a tropical storm last year in MB Bike week so maybe I'm just looking for trivial stuff to spend money on

As long as speakers are waterproof, they'll be ok. My Hogtunes speakers have survived heavy rain a number of times. Ditto for the waterproof speakers on my boat.
