Default FP3 vs PV

I know this topic has probably been beat to death, and I have done quite a bit of research on the subject. But my question is which is better For the weekend rider. Planned Mods of V&H dresser duals, CFR's, and maybe a big air sucker. Thanks for all answers.

The PV allows for so much more. But what you plan to do, the FP3 will be fine. Have friends that have one or the other & they are happy with their setups. From research I've done, you'll be fine staying with the stock a/c. It draws in much more air (2014 & up) than previous years stock a/c.

Both are good devices. I had the PV when I first bought the 14 SG, I now have the FP3 with my Stage 3, you can relocate the AFR table to adjust for changes. I Just like the BT connection verses the wire, especially if you mount your smartphone on the handlebars, just pop off verse unplugging the cable head.

Would I still need to Dynotune the bike? Or just set the FP3 and forget it?

You don't need to dyno tune. If you go with the FP3, you can get V&H customer support to help you with a base map.

You can auto tune either of them.

I prefer the PV, but that's just me.

You don't necessarily need a dyno tune. Both units have the Auto Tune feature. Some guys swear by a dyno tune just for the perfect tune. But some of the canned maps or auto tune can get you pretty darn close.

What about ease of use? Which is more user friendly?

If you have a smartphone, the FP3 could not be easier. Download the APP, plug it in, download the correct map, flash it to the ECM and go for a ride. The whole process is around 30 minutes. As far as user friendly, only the user knows how friendly they are.

Whether you ride one day a week, a month, or a year, the question should be what unit should one use (if they are going to use one at all) if they really don't care how it runs.
