Sorry Dude, this is one poll I won't participate in. What's the next one going to be, "whats' your ethnic background"? None of anyone's freakin busisness! We've been asked how old we are, how old we were, what's our annual income, yadda, yadda, yadda. Know what I mean Vern? [:@]
What does it matter if you just answer the poll and don't type in a reply?
I don't know where I fall into this. Have gone to college. Just didn't finish. Was more important to party than study. Now I have a family and bills. So I work. Would love to go back to school for a degree, but not sure what the point would be (other than to say I have done it).I doubt I would make any more money as a teacher (whatI was going to school for), than I do now. I work in a casino. Easy work, and decent pay. I deal dice, and as far as a casino dealer goes, this is the hardest thing to do. So you could say I have a PHD in dice. Most dealers, even seasoned veterans, can't deal dice. It is a specialty that most just can not obtain, or at least be good enough at it to be considered a craps dealer. Even by just knowing the game, it takes a minimum of two years before anyone will even consider you a craps dealer. Is my job harder than being a doctor or a mechanic?I don't know the answer to that. I think that anything that you can master isn't hard, but I have doctors play all day long that will comment to 'me'. "I don't know how you can deal this game". Well, I don't know how they can perform surgery. They just do it. So, in answer to this poll. I don't know. If it helps, my collar at work is black.
Three years in the Marine Corps, then 4 years in a hog packing plant with a knife in my hand. Went to college, then law school and now own and operate my own business with my wife. Don't even try to classify me......
I have taught, coached , and served as athletic director in the same school system for 34 years. Have always loved motorcycles, and having a bit of 'cool factor' because of riding my Harley, doesn't hurt when trying to get through to some kids who have a lack of interest in school. I think they see that getting an education can help them choose whatever lifestyle they would like.
With that said, my wife and I like to get away for good times with our riding friends and get a little rowdy once in awhile just like everyone else we ride with. We steer clear of local rally's but we do attend a few out of towner's that we can let our hair down and have a good time.
I will say though that I envy the wrenches at my dealership and their knowledge of motorcycles. I think sometimes if I was young again and picking a career, that wrenching would be a great occupation.
