WTF do you have to have a second job to bea b/wc semi-professional. I'm a BC construction worker except when I have to $hit in a porta john, then I feel like a low life.

Military for 8 years (green collar), did the blue collar thing in a lot of different areas, but now white collar except I never where white shirts. Matter of fact every once in while I wear one of my collared Harley shirts just for the shock factor.

I don't understand why this has put a burr under so many saddles. I didn't take this thread as a "labeling" of my social/employment placement in society. I am a BC worker and I make a decent living working with my hands and mind and I don't don't think any more or less of anyone because of the color of their collar.
I am also an amateur hockey referee and I don't know where that places me in the pecking oder, but I really don't care. I work so that I can play. When I leave my job, I leave my job. When I play, it is with buds that do wear different color collars, but I /we don't see those colors. We all ride the American dream machine and the the only colors we see are the personal choices of the paint scheme we chose for our scoots.
I don't think for one minute that it was dc's intention to put a label on any of us. I think that he was just looking to see just how the cross section of the superior North American workforce broke down. When the whistle blows at the end of the day, we are all bikers and that is the only thing that matters.

I'm not sure what white collar/blue collar means anymore. I mean, you've got guys with college degrees driving in Nascar these days. A lot of police departments require at least a two year associates degree now. Anyone realize how much education is required to be an "auto mechanic" nowadays?
As a matter of fact I do, the amount of knowledge needed to work on vehicles today, It a NEVER STOP ordeal, probably equal to a PhD..
And you have to own $100.000+ in equipment..
