Default Lower my Ultra

I want my bagger to fit me as well as my softail.
The ultra is just too tall for me.
I pulled the rear down about an inch the front is stock.
I thought I could fix the fittment with seat but after a C&C Lowpro/Harley badlander and some other seat that harley had hanging around,it just aint going to do it for me.
I want my short legs on the ground flat.
So last night I started thinking about a full lowering, but how much?
I pulled out a couple of ratchet straps and took some base measurements and then started pulling it down.
Short story is
It starts to feel good to me with the front down about 2" and the rear down another1" for a total of 2"-2 1/2" from stock.

Question is.... is 2"-2 1/2" all around drop from stock too far????
Now what kit for the front, and for the rear? just an adjustable shock bracket kit- or bracket kit and 11" street glid shocks????

Help me out please

what ever you do make it even. I dropped my rear and rode 1 year before I did the front. It handled really bad into turns. It also gave me some back problems.

Yes, 2 1/2" is too much, you will never get an Ultra to sit like a ST.

Street Glide shocks are 12" but they ride like crap. I am 5'6" with a short inseam & I have my bagger lowered.

I lowered the front forks 1" with a Progressive lowering kit & I have Platinum air suspension with a So-Low lowering kit & I can sit flat-footed & the ride is super.

Looks like 2" is the answer after straping the bike down and consulting the harley mech. next door and the mech at the dealer that works on all my bikes and his girl friend at the parts counter.
So I ordered the progressive 2" drop for the front and the Quick release tour pack kit. and now I am off to e-bay for the adjustable rear kit so I can dowhat Iwant with the rear.

Am I correct in understanding you are going to lower the rear of your Ultra by 2" with lowering blocks?

Yes
My options are 1" block and 1" LOWER AIR SHOCK.
Oh yeah and the full air rear for about $1600.00
I am looking at the adjustable rear blocks I have 1" blocks on now

Well igot all of the parts togather and started the lowering today.
I took my old rear blocks off and took the bike back to stock so I could get some good measurements the first thing I found out was that my old blocks only lowered the rear 3/4 of an inch.
Then I put my new adjustable rear lowering blocks on the block were suposed to lower the rear up to 3"???
Nope!!!!!
After I got it all back on and re measured everything I got 1 1/2" off of the rear.
But that seems to be just right for me.
Tomorrow it is on to the front
1 1/2" in the back so I will go 1" in the front
I bought the progressives for the front so I will update When I finish the front.
Then it will be on to the tour pack quick disconnect.

I HAD 1 1\2" - 2 1\2" Rear lowering blocks on my '07 RG - @ 2 1\2" drop riding solo - Need to keep my rear air pressure @ 40lbs to NOT bottom out...
2-Up loaded had in increase the rear pressure to 70lbs to NOT bottom out...
Have also lowered the front 1 1\4" Progressive...

THE RIDE SUCKED!!! Thought I was riding a Hardtail sometimes!!!

Went with progressive 12" Rear shocks and WOW - 100% Better Ride then the stock Air Shocks - I may have lost a 1 1\2" but got a much superior ride besides crankin' up the rear air so high I lost not only the ride but a lot of the height also....
