I am trying to replace the shaft that my toe heel shifting arms attach to, and am hoping someone here can help identify the name. Been surfing and was hoping to reference the part name. The shaft/spline is worn and I will need to replace it. If anyone can help with some info, it would be appreciated. Looks like I am going to have to take primary, clutch, and inner primary all off for this.
TIA
#15 is an easy fix with no special tools involved. #18 is a much bigger task. If it's ( #18 ) loose on the shaft of the transmission you can try removing the bolt ( #2 ) then using a new bolt and some penetrant, clean the threads out by running the bolt in and out several times. DO NOT USE A TAP FOR THIS. After the threads have been cleaned out use some brake clean to remove the "grunge". Then using ANOTHER NEW BOLT apply some Loc-Tite and torque the bolt to spec. I've "resurrected" a number loose shifter arms doing this with long term success. You could also try a Betterlever.com set up but there are very expensive. Good Luck.
LOL, guess my description is REAL hazy. I tried to post a pic but no luck, that is hazy too
It is the shaft that the toe heel shifter levers attached too, so it is on the front of the assembly for shifting gears. The shaft allows two shift levers to attach to it. There is a bushing that goes on the shaft as well. The shaft goes through the front of the inner primary and that is where it attaches to the linkage that goes back to the tranny. Wish I could post a pic
