Default 02 Clasic Help
I have an 02 Ultra Classic w/ Gear drive and stage 1. The check engine lite has been coming on after it starts for about 15 seconds then goes out, yesterday when I was getting ready to leave the VA. It didn't want to start till I twisted the throttle then it fired up the engine lite stayed on for about 5 min. Is there some way I can check to see what the problem is without going to the expensive HD shop. Im retired and can't afford an expensive trip there now. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated

Do a search on how to retrieve codes on your bike and then search for list of codes so you know what it is. Easy.

It came up with nothing flashing and says d01CLr so I guess its ok just acting wierd

I'd go through the procedure again just to make sure.

iirc the CEL will come on and stay on for a few seconds after start up to indicate a stored code.

If there is not a constant refreshing of the code, it will self erase after 50 start cycles.

Those bikes are prone to fuel hoses splitting and pressure regulators going south....

Harley used to have a hand held code reader, I got mine off of EBAY for 25 bucks, works great on my 03 FLHTPI
