You try stock headlights and LED in TP if you still get interference? Wondering if it could be something else.
Just tried all LEDs minus the headlight. Had my led turn signals, tour pack lights and tail light. No radio static at all. Put the led headlight in and the static comes back.
Stock headlight and the rest LEDs with no static could mean a bad ground in the TL. The TL was straight plug-n-play or you spliced-n-diced? You have stock radio or was the wiring spice-n-dice?
The lights were plug and play. No splicing. The radio is stock with the exception of shorty antennas. They were on it when I bought the bike. I just relocated the antenna under the fairing away from the power wire to the headlight and aux lights to see if that helps. Im just wondering if the HD lights would be better with the static.
Sounds like RFI. May be that particular light is just too noisy for a bike. You may be able to get away from it even by relocating your antenna, but because everything is in the same fairing, it could be difficult. (I'm assuming you have the -in the fairing- antenna). I hate to say it, but it may just be easier to replace the light.

Was gonna say the same thing. You can go to Tilley's and plug in the Daymaker and test the radio. Great guys there, and I think they'll let you do that.

Which Tilley's? I go to the one in Statesville. The guys at both locations are great. I pass closer dealers just to go there. Will have to check to see if they let me try them next time Im out there.
I don't have the fairing antenna. Just the short one's on the tour pack.

That's what I'm looking into. Was looking at getting the JW Speakers 8700 evo2 and their passing lamps. Was just seeing if people are having radio issues like the TL7. Don't wanna spend that kind of money to have the same problem. Still trying to figure out if it's worth getting the JW Speakers or the HD one(even though they are the same) and if I need a mounting ring or not. Heard some say yes and some say no.
I also "Had" the trucklight with the same issue. The brightness of the light was incredable
but as you know the radio interferance was terrible.I am a automotive tech for 40 plus years.I did research added grounds did everything in the world but nothing fixed it.J&P cycles would not take it back.I gave it to my brother that has a heritage and he lovers it.I bought the HD led and just don't feel it has the same brightness
