In the middle of putting in Cyco shoes and checked the lifters tonight. There is one I cannot plunge with my finger. Even stuck a cut pushrod in a vice and tried make it move. No dice. 2002 RK, 30,000 miles, stock cams (so far).
Replace 1 ? Replace all? If I do, it would be the Comp Cams 850. Spent the last 2 nights reading lifter threads trying to figure out if I should replace them or not.
Cyco shoes came today with the tool too. It took about 10 minutes working carefully to get the new ones on. I didn't have to grind the old pins, they came out with gentle taps. Last weekend, Koyo B-148's went in.
I would replace them all, because I would be thinking about nothing else on a ride, and if you replace them all you should have NOTHING to worry about.

I have some new take off's let go cheap. Came from eBay deal, that came with jugs pistons ,cams & stuff. From a 96 cc. All I used is the jugs. All looked to of only been ran at factory. I already purchased S&S when these came or I would of used them.

I did the cam tensioners, the collapsed lifter( replaced all) and adjustable push rods myself. I'd never done this job before, managed to install the lifter in backwards, yes you can, a new primary chain tensioner, sealed the stator gromet, and I just clicked over 128,000 miles. Now I'm having DTC P0122 issues. Always replace everything as a set.

The guy that did my work replaced the inner and outer bearing in the cam chest, with the new and improved versions. I don't own the tools to do that work and really didn't wanna buy once in a lifetime tools. He used Harley parts for replacements. Somewhere in my travels I got a brand new set of SE lifters he put in to replace the originals with 66k on them. It runs nice. Took it out for a 100 mile cruise today, no complaints.,,,
