I bought a tomtom and hated it so I returned it. It's navagation was terrible. It kept routing me off routes only to route me back on. I then bought a Nuvi which is awesome. I would suggest any Garmin.
I have no experiance with a TomTom however a friend bought one and a week later returned it and bought a Garmin. I have a Garmin 2720 and love it. Zumo is the next generation GPS from Garmin and every thing posted is positive.
