I don't get all the "107" hype, my 103 with a little head work, some compression and 259s will do any thing that most of the 107s are doing.
Yep, a well thought out 103 build will get it done. In reality 4" isn't a whole lot, it just sounds good. Last winter I freshened the top end of my dad's trike, I tossed around going from 103 to 107, I kept it 103.
The extra $500 to $600 wasn't worth doing a 107 for me either to gain about 5 & 5. Actually my engines guy's at J&B talked me out of a 107, we're friends and I really respect their opinion and my 103 turned out awesome.
first off, im curious as to what is concidered a "110 tire shredder kit"? what parts are being installed? i would almost think a standard SE 110 motor should pull better numbers than 88 hp and 106 tq. Here is the dyno sheet from my 103 FLHTP. stock pistons and heads. just cams, slight baffle mod, and a good tune

CNC heads, 259e cams 58mm throttle body and SE Pro Tuner. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Its a SE stage V kit.
My 107 was less then $1800 installed. Best money I have ever spent. The HD kits are far more expensive with far less results.. FM has clearly done their homework and it shows in the dyno numbers...
