Default Do all Electra Glides shake this much?

Just traded in my 2012 Heritage Soft tail and got a new 2016 Electra glide Ultra Low. At idle this thing shakes a lot, so much that you can't see in the mirrors and the bars vibrate at least a half inch or more. It smooths out with throttle and gets a little better after warming up, but still shakes a great deal more than my last bike. At times it feels like it's running on one cylinder.

I know the EG has the "A" engine without counter balancing where my Heritage softail had the "B" engine with balancing, but really, does the "A" engine vibrate that much on all EG's or do I have a problem? Dealer told me this is normal and due to the high output 103 engine in these Rushmore models.

I had the salesman start up three different 2016 EG's in the showroom and they all seemed to shake like this.

Any EG Ultra owners out there that can comment?

For once I believe the term "that's normal, they all do that" rings true."

Yup. There's a reason they call them Milwaukee Vibrators.

They vibrate at idle but should smooth out while on the gas.

The comment about running on one cylinder, look up EITMS and how to turn it off if that is what's actually happening.

I can see where coming from a soft tail you would be concerned by this. I've never owned a soft tail. If my ultra didn't vibrate at idle I'd be concerned. Also check your owners manual. If your head temp reaches a certain point it will run on one cylinder at idle. You can turn this feature off and on. Your dealer should have went over the bike with you when you bought it and told you about this.

Yep, My '06 RKC and '09 Ultra shakes too coming off from a '02 Sporty. Didn't like it at first and gotten used to it. Today, I can not imagine riding a motorcycle with the engine that doesn't shake.

It's the rubber mounts. My engine looks like it's gonna fall out at idle.

Relax - all is well with the World - and your new bike. What you are experiencing is your rubber mount system working properly on your behalf. They've been doin' it since the rubber mounts were introduced in 1980!

I took a Heritage for a week while the dealer was working on my Bagger. I can tell you that was weird to have no shake at idle....The difference for me was at 75 on the interstate, I felt a buzz through the bars after about 30 minutes, I am told they don't all do that but several do. The touring models don't do that and I prefer it... You will get used to it..Like other have said "It's normal".

I'm surprised yours is only a half inch. It's 'normal', and welcome to this side.

Post up some pics. We love pics.
