Just finishing up my mini build. 2016 sgs w/ tw-555 cams, fuel moto billet air cleaner, fuel moto 2-1-2 ceramic head pipe and power vision w/ target tune. I'm either going to use fuel moto's new mufflers that havent been released yet or the bassani dnt which IMHO sound great but I'm concerned the large baffle will kill low end. It states it has a 3 step baffle but does anyone have real world opinions when using this muffler without a cat? If it suffers down low could I use big city thunder head pipe baffles to help with back pressure? Any help is appreciated.
On my 14' SGS, I have the DNT's on a S&S Power Tune header. I don't have that many miles on them but it is currently tuned with a PV base map, I haven't done an auto tune yet. What I have experienced with about 150 miles is my low end improved and my top side stayed about the same.
Just dyno'd 2 street glides, both with stock gutted headers, 57H cams and open air cleaners. My bike with 4" Jackpots and comp baffles made 97hp & 111 torque. My buddy's bike with DNT's made 96hp & 111 torque. We also had a set of 4" rinehart's on it and it felt the same, so I'd say they are comparable to the rest of the available mufflers. The DNT's sound really good, most similar to the CFR's I've heard in the past.
I added DNT pipes to my 15 RGS and it ran good 3 weeks ago I changed the Header to the fuel moto 2-1-2 ceramic coated with of course my DNTs and then a flash from the power vision from Jamie@FUELMOTO and I must say wow!! It runs great low end really is something it pulls strong....just as a test i was in 5th gear @30 mpr rpms were only around 1200...rolled the gas and she pulled away like nothing not even a chatter or lugging sound...try that stock it would sound like u blow the clutch up....the bike runs great it never lugs whatsoever it pulls hard..and runs cooooool
Also my buddy runs 100% same setup as mine but he just added woods 222 cams and he loves the the setup a bit more top end and midrange power with the 222...mostly u feel it going into 4th gear and up...but also the sound the DNT with fuel moto header really give a deap sound...my buddy's say it sounds like a army helicopter with the 2 blades I think there called chunoks?? Not sure what there called but the DNT with fuel moto header u will love if u like that deap deap sound...and it's not to loud just right
I saw fuel moto has them on sale too 512$$ that's a good deal...I had a chance to here every slipon they make and I must say the DNTs and cfrs sound the best..but I never did here any jackpot slipons yet
