Very good advise, I've always test road or rented before I bought something different. When making a major change I always rent it for a couple days and ride the snot out of it, this way I know I'm not going to have regrets.

Back in '12 when I was looking for a touring bike, I thought I wanted a RK. I went and looked at a few, but the salesman talked me into trying an '11 Ultra. He said if you plan on taking trips, especially 2 up, you'll appreciate the Ultra. Needless to say, he was right. Once my wife got on the back, she was sold. We have taken week long trips on both the '11 Ultra and the new '15 Limited and I couldn't be happier.

I will also recommend going to a dealer that has all the models in stock and test ride all of them. That's what we did. Ride them all and park them next to each other so you can compare them directly. Take a long look at what you expect from a bike and what kind of riding you plan to do. What works perfectly for me, may not work for you.

Personally, I love the look of the SG. But, I need the tour pak and like having the intercom and other goodies on the Limited. So I'm thinking about getting the detachable tour pak kit for the SG look when I don't need the storage.

I've never ridden a shark nose bike, so I can't give an opinion there. I know they have a loyal following, so they're must be something to it.

Good luck!

If I were to get another one tomorrow, it would be a Road Glide.

Test ride each bike that you are considering on the same road, same speed.

Then decide, also buy the newest, most bike that your wallet can afford.

(Get anything but a Road Glide, there are too many of them on the road now!)
