So as many have needed to do, i needed to replace my fairing brackets as they broke at the top. I bought a "heavy duty" replacement from Eastern Performance. V-Twin Industries Part # 50-0279 to be exact..
They don't even come close to lining up for the stereo. Angle is all sorts of wrong. Could i of gotten a lemon? maybe. I looked and can not find any reviews on these any where so this is me saying... dont buy these.
Tried to save a buck and it cost me a week plus "restocking" fee. OEM brackets here i come.
It sounds ghetto, but I bought some steel L brackets at the local hardware store. 2 years or more later and they're still in place. Cost like $2 and didn't have to go through the ordeal of removing the original supports
yeah i considered that as i have seen a lot of guys doing that. too rigged for my liking and i have an amp and head unit sitting on that bracket.. i just figured a taiwan part is the same as a china part. i was wrong. they're half the price of the harley version for a reason i guess.
edit: i'll be damned, the harley version is made in the good ole us of a.

I repaired a buddies bike with a repair kit off ebay.it was very easy and has worked for 2 yrs so far.i think it was about $50..just search inner fairing repair kit.
I'm well aware of the multiple jerry-rigged fixes available. I am choosing to replace the brackets. If you could see the bracket would anyone do that? no. a hacked up bracket is not good enough for me even if it can't be seen.
I'm simply wanting to put it out there that the aftermarket version offered by eastern performance was junk. they looked nice but the fitment was way off. thats it thats all.
I googled for reviews before i bought the thing to no avail. 33 other people have bought this stupid bracket on ebay and i can't imagine how they had better luck than me unless i got a bad set. so hopefully someone else can see this and pick a different option if they're like me.
I know what you are saying about rigging it but I did the same as others. Went to Lowe's and got and L bracket. Cut it to curve of the bracket and painted it to match. It has been on for 2yrs and no problems. Wish I Had a side picture.
