Default Those d@#% fairing brackets

Anyone have as much trouble with these things as I have? I have replaced all 4 brackets at one time or another. This time, I had the right side fairing bracket break at the 90 degree elbow at the top. Didn't replace the bracket this time (which is a real pain BTW), I used L brackets from Lowes, 2 1/4 inch bolts and washers with locking nuts, and a drill. Never coming apart now. Anyone else here have problems with them? (No, I didn't get pics of my fix)

My bud just bought all 4 brackets and the 2 main vertical brackets have been redesigned and reinforced. The 2 horizontal brackets have been redesigned too.

I do have one of the redesigned horizontal fairing brackets. Didn't feel like dropping another $150 again to get all four. Total cost at Lowes was 12 bucks, problem solved.

I tried a little preventive maintenance last year while I had my fairing off to replace the two still good horizontal brackets with the newly designed ones.

I used rubber isolator washers between all four brackets mounting points and the fairing. Figured the washers would flex and absorb some of the stress on the brackets and maybe give them a longer life span.

Only time will tell...............

Repaired the left horizontal bracket a couple a couple of years
ago by welding a washer on the end where it broke.Still holding
fine.Replaced the broken right horizontal with the new design.
When I found both the verticals broke at the same time I repaired
both of them with some aluminum angle & some pcs. of rubber &
a couple of screws & locknuts.Cost a couple of bucks.Short
answer is you're not alone with this problem.

Iron head i've replaced both main supports twice! This last tine i did a little re-designing to the new brackets and added a rubber isolator. My concern is why does mine keep breaking and other guys i know with 40 50 k miles have never replaced one.?

Both of my left supports broke. I repaired them rather than replacing them with parts that will break again. No problems since.
