Batwing Owners,
What is the part number for the horizontal fairing brackets? I need to order some.
The ones that bolt under one of the speaker screws and attaches to the vertical brackets.
Are the newer brackets made out of stonger metal?
Looking at the broken bracket, it looks like the hole in the bracket that attaches to the speaker screw is not lined up.
It looks like I would have to pull up on the fairing or slightly bend the bracket.
Should the hole line up or should there be pressure on the brackets?
Is thebracket hole being out of linethe cause of my brackets breaking?
Got part numbers: 58938-96B (left Support) & 58939-96B (right Support), can't say if they have made any improvements. The "B" on the part number indicates something change from the original but what and when I don't know. When you get new supports you'll have to position the fairing to align the holes.
there is some company on the internet that sells these brackets made from stainless steel. Basically they look like the originals, but thicker and, like said, made from stainless. I 'think' the company is MONSTER CYCLE or something like that. I read a posting here a couple weeks ago. Seems like they are around 50$ a set. I have just replaced mine with the HD OEM ones and wish I had know about the aftermarket ones before.
