Default Trickle charger

My 2016 street glide came with a wire to connect to a trickle charger already installed from the factory. Do I have to use a Harley Davidson unit, or can I use any charger that will fit the plug?
Thanks in advance

You can use any brand that takes your fancy. The wire on your bike has a universal plug/socket, which is common to battery chargers. Be aware that the term 'trickle' charger refers to a constant low power charger, whereas it would be better to buy a battery tender, also known as a battery minder, which provides electronic monitoring of the battery, hence cannot over-charge it.

Does it look like this http://www.walmart.com/ip/36007111?w...671621&veh=sem if so this is what a lot of people use including myself. Just don't get anything that exceeds 2 amps otherwise you can damage the battery.

Thanks, it's a Stanley fat max 8 amp with a motorcycle sitting for 2 amps, it maintains the battery and worked well on my Sportster (which was traded in for the Street Glide)

trickle charger and battery tender are two completely different animals! you want to plug in a battery tender to that port not a trickle charger. I use a battery tender plus, different manufacturers call the by different names sometimes.
