I have a 2011 FLHTK. Is there a known problem with radio static? I can't pick up any stations without alot of static. It's that way with the engine on or off.
I checked the connection at the antenna.
I haven't checked antenna connection at the head unit yet. Just wanted to know if there were any issues with static caused by the head unit.
Have heard of problems with radio static
being attributed to led bulbs being installed.
Have no first-hand experience with this,
as my led bulbs don't cause the static issues.
My stock radio fm reception BLEW from day one. Same problem as yours. 13 ultra limited. Im surprised your stock radio still works. Mine lasted all of 17000 miles. 2 1/2 seasons
There's nothing worth listening to on the radio anyway. Get a Bluetooth adapter and stream music from your smartphone. If you're really dead set on listening to the radio, definitely check the antenna connection to the head unit. Good luck, GSF
Not to hijack the thread but what Bluetooth adapter do you recommend for the stock HK radio? I've been thinking about doing it for a while but really don't know what to get.
the antenna is probably no good the break down in the large part at the bottom of the mast I think the 2010 and newer use two cb antennas I might be wrong about that but put your onther antenna on the left side and try it I am betting the static will go away

Just some food for thought....
Don't have LEDs yet. But I will keep that in mind when I upgrade. Thanks for the tip.
