You are confusing the original post with the total cycle cleaner which is good, but finicky if you don't know how to properly use it. The OP is referring to the engine brightner for black wrinkle paint. It is just a silicone base spray to hydrate the black and keep it from getting dried out and flaking. Think of it as a moisturizer for your skin. It is good stuff too and does its intended purpose.

To make the engine black all nice and pretty (after cleaning it) I've had very good luck with good ol WD40.

I tried WD40. It was a dirt magnet and it didn't last long. S100 or H-D brand engine brightener works much better.
