[The Neotec has many similar features as the C3. However, the latching system is traditional strap and double d-ring, which after the C3 is not as convenient. Also it is a physically slightly larger helmet (external dimensions), but once on, I don't notice it. I can't tell you the weight difference, but if there is one, I really don't notice it either. It has the same sunscreen and pinned windscreen system. It actually fits me better, and didn't require an extended break-in period.

The Neotec is 3.88 pounds, and the C3 Pro is 3.53 pounds. Slightly heavier by a little over a 5 ounces. Negligible.

My wife loved her C3 very much. I got her the C3 Pro and she couldn't wear it. The chin strap was choking her and the fit of the helmet was not as good. Go figure that one since a top complaint of the C3 was the dreaded Shuberth forehead, when you pull the helmet off you are left with a triangular impression on your forehead. Anyway as for functionality there is no quieter or plush helmet on the market. At the same time there isn't a hotter helmet on the market either. Quiet helmets are hot helmets. Again my wife loved it and sucked it up. I personally bought one and couldn't get it to work with my head shape. Also the shell size was too big for me and it had the Spaceballs look when I wore it so I passed. We have both now transitioned over to another brand helmet. I won't say the name out of respect for your first post requesting so. C3 is a great helmet though.

Dixonk: Thanks for the consideration. I guess I should have stated in my first post that if there's a solid review on Schuberth that comes with a secondary comment (review) of a different helmet....it's welcomed. The posts where a question is asked, and without answering the OP's question a forum member will say, I don't think you should do "this" or buy "that", I would do "the other" are legion. I may have been a little harsh in heading those off, but it appears to have been effective!

In that you have experience with Schuberth, I am interested in what worked better for you, and why, if you care to enlighten. I want quality, and that's why I tried to keep any posters pretty focused on the information I'm looking for.

Thank you.

I too just went to the modular world. I was pawning between the neotec and the c3 pro. In the end I wound up going with the shoei for the only reason I could walk into cyclegear and buy it off the shelf. From what I have read and understand, correct me if I am wrong, the majority of the wind noise comes from the ventilation. The shoei has a larger vent system so that would make it just a tad louder than the c3. Unfortunately I have yet to ride with the new helmet. I get my bike out of storage this week end and plan on testing the new lid for many many hours.

Gipper, I think I know what your going thru on the decision process, I have worn, 1/2's a few full's thru the years and in the past 7 years a modular Nolan N43Air(european version) and the past 4 years a N43 DOT, very nice helmet- multiple ways that you wear it (full with chin piece, 3/4 with shield or 3/4 with visor trim) fairly noisy and I'v had multiple problems with N-com cord, within the past six months I have been contemplating the schuberth C3Pro went to the Revzilla store tried on the C3Pro and the Neotec 3 separate times in two weeks and read multiple reviews. Made my decision and purchased the C3Pro, upon receipt I shipped it out to have a Harley compatible headset installed in it will receive it back tomorrow, looking forward to this weekend to formally try it out, in the mean time I felt that the C3Pro fit me well but I still like the openness of a 3/4 so I jumped in again and purchased the M1 and I'm wait on delivery.
Good Luck with your decision.

In that case gladly. We ended up getting a shoei neotec for my wife. It has plush cushioning inside and superb ventilation for hot days. Noise is fairly good with it and is bearable. The fit was similar to the Shuberth for her. It is a smaller shell size and feels lighter. Also it is a lot easier to put audio inside of the helmet. Price was a bit cheaper than the C3 but only by 100 bucks or so. The modular part works great and has built in sun visor. She doesn't miss her C3 any longer. Again since the fit was similar to the Shuberth it didn't work for my head shape. I am a large and since it is a rounder shape I had to go to an XL to get it on and then it was too loose. I ended up with a full face and went with the Shoei RF1200. I am not that happy with mine so I won't recommend it. The shape is designed for leaning forward on a sport bike so it is not quiet and I haven't solved the buffering problem.

I am looking at the C3 Pro, and the M1. I currently use a modular, and I'm going to replace it. For those that use or have used the C3 or the C3 Pro, what what have/has been your likes/dislikes?

Same goes for the 3/4 M1. Relative to a 3/4 helmet, is it quiet? Any information, and your likes/dislikes would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
Hi Gipper.

I have the C3pro Womens model. Before the C3Pro, I had a Gmax that was functional and pretty comfortable. That is until I got the Schuberth. Now I don't even like to wear the Gmax as a spare.

I really don't have anything bad to say about it, other than it's kinda hot. But really, its a FF, so they are all hot. It's comfortable, not to heavy and the vents are adequate. When its hot out I'll lift the visor at a stop light, but when I'm moving Im very comfortable. For some reason I get more air moving when the built in sun visor is not lowered. Just a quirk and it doesn't bother me.

The communication system is good and I listen to my iTunes mostly. I can make and receive phone calls but I don't.
When it was purchased, my EX also had a Shuberth and our communication between us was pretty good. I don't remember the range but we would sometimes get quite a distance apart.

Overall, I would recommend it...but, honestly, if I have to replace it I wont put that much money in one.

A further thought, prompted by Queen! My wife used to suffer from an itchy scalp while riding for any length of time. Riding with other couples over the years she discovered that was a common complaint. Talking through things with the lovely lass I mentioned earlier, she explained that C3 Lady models have a suitable lining which solves the problem. The only obvious thing is that the lining is a different colour than the men's versions have. And so it has proved! So for the lady in your life, take note. And once again, find a competent shop with a trained fitter.

I currently own/use the C3 Pro and it is a very quiet helmet compared to my older C3, they have improved around the lower neck roll so that it comes further under your chin and also made it snugger around your neck. The pinlock system is great on those cold and damp days.
It is a little hot on days over 85 degrees but once up to speed the airflow is good, if you are looking for a FF helmet it is fairly light.
If you want a FF helmet and a 3/4 helmet you might want to try on a Shark Evoline 3 it is a modular with the ability of opening up and can pivot all the way to the back and can be ridden this way at speed the main drawback that I had with my Shark Evoline is that it was quite a bit heavier that my newer Schuberth C3 Pro.
I still have my Shark Evoline 2 but I rarely use it now that I have the C3 Pro.
You can try the Shark Evoline at some Harley stores since they now sell it as a rebaged Harley modular helmet.
Good luck on whichever of the helmets discussed in this thread as they are all good solid helmets.

I been using my C3 for a while now and also suffered from the dreaded Schuberth stamp on the forehead. Since the C3 Pro liner works in the C3 and is made a little different, thought it was worth a try...lets just say it was a huge difference!!! No more hot spot and it just fit better. I use a Sena headset and it didn't make much more noise than without.

My wife has worn it a few times and will upgrade to the women's version when her helmet needs replaced.

As far as a 3/4 helmet, the C3 solved the issue other modulars or a 3/4 caused issues for me - the excess wind coming up into the helmet really caused me issues with my ears. I'm talking serious pain, even with earplugs. As mentioned, the seal that the Schuberth creates around your neck is a major reason for how quiet it is, but for me it also eliminated that earache that all other helmets, except for my FF Arai, caused. If you can find a place to try one on - as Graham said, it's a "different" fit and not for everyone.

Good luck!!!
