I've tried on all sorts and sizes of helmets, if you don't go to a store to do this, you may or may not get the BEST fit.

I spent 10 years living in "Mail-Order Land" up in the Arctic. Everything from clothes to boots to groceries was ordered online and shipped it. There is an undeniable wisdom to trying things on before you buy them, especially helmets. There is nothing worse than a poorly fitting helmet. Definitely take the time to go and try them on beforehand.

I'm pretty lucky and live close to iron pony motorsports... they've probably got 200-300 helmets on display and it's easy to put one of them on and walk around the store shopping for other stuff for a half hour to forty five minutes. Odd to be walking around with the helmet on, but great for seeing how it really fits.

There is a definite break in period for those of us with fat heads. I first got the C3 and was about ready to give up on it because it was killing my forehead and all of the sudden it "broke in ". I would not take a hundred dollars to break one in again.
I bought a second bike of a different color and bought the C3P. It still has not broke in yet and hurts my head, but I have faith it will come around.
I have the SRC system in both of them and my dealer has been kind enough to replace them for me several times and get them covered under warranty. They are great when they work.
The biggest complaint I have about the helmets is that the face shield won't stay up while you are riding. I know if you are concerned about noise a person would not want it up, but I don't like feeling so confined sometimes and the shield slams shut. They need to put larger detents in the shield mechanism. Over all I think they make a quality safe helmet and that is what I am after.

I am thinking of taking the Neotec plunge, it just fits me better that the C3 that I tried...I currently wear a Shoei RJ platinum 3/4 and it's the best I have ever had and quietest also.
With that said the Schbert is no slouch but if it doesn't fit right it just sucks. No matter the brand.

The Neotec is a nice helmet, it just doesn't fit my head. I get terrible pain in my right ear canal with it....To the point that I hurt for a week after rides. But the Shoei has a great drop-down visor and can easily mount a Sena headset.

When I got the RGU, I got 20% off on stuff, so i got a C3 Pro. Really great helmet, and quiet. Quieter than the Shoei, and quieter than my FF Arai Signet-Q. The drop-down isn't as dark as the Neotec, but that's not a deal-breaker.

For my head shape, the C3 Pro is the shiznit. Until Arai makes a modular, it's the best I'll find.

I have the C3 Pro and A Neotech. They both are great helmets. The C3 Pro has a much clearer face shield in my opinion and has lasted wear much better than the Neotech. It seems to shrug off bugs and debris better and has not suffered near as many scratches as my C3 Pro. My wife had the women's version and wore it about a year but the front started to wear marks on her forehead and causing hot spots so she quit wearing it.

If anyone wants a SRC system for the C3Pro I have two sets in great condition. We no longer use the comm system since I got the road glide and use the Harley headsets and a SENA 20S system for bike to bike comms. I believe the collar comm system will work on both the C3 and C3 Pro since my wife's helmet was a C3 and not the Pro version. If anyone wants them let me know. Ill let them go for half of the full retail price. Everything included and I can send pics.

I received my new C3 Pro back from Sierra Electronics on Thursday last week (had them drill and install the J&M 787 headset) and went for an 180 mile ride on Saturday, all I can say is that I'm very pleased with the helmet and the J&M headset. This is my first Schuberth helmet and the fit and finish are great and the top vent when open allows air circulation inside that can be felt and works well, there is only one little caveat for me and that is while closing the chin part of the helmet I have to make sure the mike and exposed arm (from the headset) is pushed up and in while pulling out slightly on the side of the fixed portion of the chin curtain where it meets with the mating portion of the main part of helmet so that the mike is in correct space inside the helmet and then once closed and locked I push the mike out so as not touching my lips. I had to remove the foam cover on the mike due to there is very little room when closed even though I had the smaller foam cover on the mike, I'm sure this is something that will break in or that I will have to get used to, but in general the helmet will be a keeper.
I was impressed with the sound thru the new 787 headset speakers, bass and clarity are very good, I don't remember the previous J&M headsets that I've had sounding this well, but it has been a while since I used them, I'm sure the design of the helmet is a contributor, I currently have been wearing a Nolan N-43 modular helmet utilizing the N-Com system that would plug directly into the Harley and I didn't realize what I was missing in regards to sound.
All that being said in my brief test review, I'm waiting on receipt of a new Schuberth M1 for the warmer months.

Viguy, I have the same issue with the mike on my Sena inside the Neotec. The chin bar closes fine but the mike does sit very close to my lips. I have to actually push it down towards my chin so my lips aren't rubbing against it. It has no effect on the performance of the mike where it is sitting inside a closed area.

FWIW, I just purchased a Shoei J-Cruise from Revzilla. I have never seen one up close, and there isn't a dealer who carries them within 75 miles. Revzilla's policy seems to take most of the risk out of the purchase. After much time discussing options with the rep, I sent them photos of my head so that they could suggest the best helmet for my head shape.....we'll see.
