Reduced Reach Seat Advice
It's definitely a nut crusher for some of us. The first time I went for a ride with it I was dragging my floor boards around almost every turn.
Anyways if you want to try it just pm me.
Simply go to your local HD dealer to try out a reduce reach seat for free, doesnt get any easier and or better then that.
I tried a reduced reach seat which is narrowed quite a lot making it less comfy for your butt & especially when it comes to your inner thighs so it was NG for me.
and i am not a big heavy person at 5'-8.5" & 168lbs and the reduced reach seat didnt have enough padding for my butt & back to tollerate riding more then 35-40 mins on it,longer then that was when i wished i could get off the reduced reach seat ASAP.
But a reduced reach seat may be ok for you because no matter what myself or anyone else tells you here you wont know " for yourself " till ya put HD's free test ride "reduced reach seat " on your scoot & go a nice ride.
Good luck.

FYI,some reduced reach/low down seats are a but better then others but bt design they are all not as comfy as std design/std height seats.
Been there done that trying reduced reach seats from diff mfgs, thats when i ended up lowering the bike an 1" along with also getting riding boots with thicker sole along with getting a std position/size touring seat and the proper/safe footing issues required for safe parking lot & or slow handling was solved as was having a more comfy seat with more padding under my butt too.
It's a bit more involved to go that route but much better way then going with the the uncomfy lowboy/reduced reach design seats on the market these days design that have less padding and steeper angle in thigh area both of which significantly reduce the seats comfort lvl making them NG IMHO.
So with that said my rec to you is to not waste your $$$$ on yet a 4th seat mod which i say because the fact is the 1st/2nd/3rd seat mod hasn't got it good enough for long rides by now its likely spending more $$$$ on a 4th mod isnt going to make you 90-100% happy either..
Thats why i rec you buy a std size/std location comfy touring seat from Mustang or Ulitmate seats which is what i did after i found the low profile/reduced reach/lowboy type design seats fro mult mfg's had the same basic ride/lack of comfort issues riding like crap & being uncomfortable for anything more then a farily short 30-45mins ride.
Then after you get a std type design comfy Mustang or Ultimate seat lower your bike 1" (Front & rear) anyway you see fit to do so.
I went with progressive 1" lowering spring kit up front and had stock rear shocks lowered 1" vs running 1" lowering blocks that some guys swear by as having no issues with at all while other state they are totally unsafe and can even cause premature wear of lower rear swingarm bushings supposedly due to diff angle rear shocks are at with the 1" lowering blocks.
I wasnt sure either way so didnt use them though many others had good luck running 1" lowering blocks for 100k miles with no issues at all.
And if lowering the bike 1" doesnt quite do it for you then get riding boots/shoes with a thicker heal or sole and that should be enough to get it done at that point and have a good comfy ride too.
Good luck.

Regarding the backrest, I put a non-adjustable HD one on the bike. It is almost useless because of the way the RR seat pushes you forward, and where the back rest lines up even with the mounting bracket at the closest setting. It's OK if I'm leaning back but that is not how I ride. I hope that makes sense. I think the adjustable one would work better but haven't tried one yet.
