Sounds like you might have some water in the fuel. Does it drip when the bike's running? I'd change gas stations and see if that doesn't make a difference.

That's going to be normal for the most part.
If you live in an area of higher humidity , the water in the air will also be used during the combustion process.
When I had the stock mufflers and cross over , the left pipe rusted inside pretty bad and the right looked pretty good.
I bought a pair of V&H mufflers from a guy who used the stock cross over and when I pulled the baffles to check on their condition , the left one was
rusted and broken.
No biggie , they were replaceable quite cheap.
True duals will even up the rust some for me .....

My 06has rusted too. Another Harley rider pointed it out to me as if something was defective withmy bike. My response was: You haven't ridden your bike in the rain much have you!The rusting seemed to have appeared on mine after I had ridden in the rain several times.

Timely topic for me. This is my right side V&H Oval after one month. V&H is sending a new inner baffle and agreed to do so immediately. I was hoping this was just a fluke, but it sounds like it is a "normal" happening. Left side is fine.
