I ordered a 12" with recurve last November and it arrived in 3 weeks. I have to believe that this is a low volume and high quality operation and the delay is a measure of their success. I am more than happy with mine and will probably order another this fall when there is no hurry. --Tom

I just ordered my second Clearview windshield with the recurve and was told it would be 7-8 weeks until ready for delivery. I'm willing to wait the 7-8 weeks because of my past experience with Clearview windshields. The only reason I'm ordering my second Clearview windshield I want to try one an inch and a half taller, and my old shield is pretty scratched on the inside because of the HD windshield bag.

Does the recurve actually work? About how many inches do you gain with the recurve (i.e. is a 12" recurve like a 15" straight shield)?

Are there any negatives? I'd assume that looking thru the shield at the recurve would be distorted. Does it add any turbulance?

Thanks,
LeonD

Leon,

The recurve raised the wind line above mine and my passengers helmets. I use the 12" (stock) with recurve and it ws better than the tall HD (15"). It also allowed me to look over rather than through the windshield. I also noticed in the rain there was no annoying drip over the top edge that I would get with a straight one. -- Tom

Clearview claims the recurve acts as if the shield was 2 inches higher

I have a friend with an '06 SG and HD 9" WS, and one day we swapped bikes. Mine ('07 SG) has an 8" Clearview with recurve, and I was amazed by the difference. The wind from his higher WS hit the top of my helmet, yet on the Clearview it goes over it, as expected. What I didn't expect was that looking throught the top of his WS was very distorted to the piont of being distracting, much more than the Clearview, which is minimal even with the recurve. I'm happy with the Clearview and haven't had any notion of buying another WS.
Normally, if riding with the backrest, I would be looking over the WS of either bike, which I much prefer, but there was no backrest mounted on either bike that day.
