Rear tailight issue?
So I have a couple questions.
1.) Are the front turn signals suppose to be on as part of the running lights? (Unrelated question)
2.) I took my rear signal off to get powdercoated. Rather than tearing apart the connector, I disassembled the bulb connection end and had to cut the ground.
When I got it back from the shop, I soldered the ground and reassembled. I put in the 1157 bulbs and I am getting some weird results. With the 1157 bulbs on one side, the running light works (although it seems bright). The turn signal does not. In fact, the light stays on and seem unresponsive to anything. Although it does blink with security. I assumed a short but the security light working is throwing me off.
On the other side, a 1157 bulb works with the turn signal and brake light but no running light. Thoughts opinions?

Haha, sorry. I have a 2103 Harley Road Glide custom. It has the light bar that acts as turn signals and brake lights.
I am still curious if the front turn signals are on as part of the running lights. I resolved the rest.
I was unable to get the ground out of the rear tail lights so I cut them and solder them back. I ended up changing the orientation of the wires in the bulb connector. It appears one of the springs was causing a issue as it was binding and not applying enough pressure on both sides. Also, spin the reflectors before you put them back into the light bar. I found some tension on the wires also help improve my connection.
Does anyone know if the rubber cover is meant to prevent shorts or just for securing it and helping with vibration?
