I tried the HD mirror extensions, waste of money for me, just raised the mirrors straight up about 2". Went for the Kuryakyn extensions which are angled and worked perfectly for me.. Longer mirror stems would be great also...

Reason: typo
I see police bike mirrors for sale sometimes. They are up and out a pretty good bit. But some of them are the real mirrors and not the faraway deal, if you know what I mean.

I work at the Lafayette River Annex, about two miles south of ***, so I come in through the midtown and up Hampton blvd. Like 564 it's a racetrack during rush hour.

Seeing my shoulder instead of the road is my problem, sounds like the Kury may do the trick. Thanks for all the input.
I like my Street Glide for amongst other things, the mirror location. When I installed my Wild Ones WO575's, my OEM mirrors were blocked. These Kuryakyn mirrors are farther out and with turn signals....
If you like the stock look and the "closer than appears" feature, some Sportster models came with a 1" longer stem between the bends. Doesn't sound like much but worked perfect for me. I picked up a set on e bay for $30 and sold mine for $30. Dealer should be able to tell you which models had them. Be careful with e bay. I sent one set back advertised as extended and they weren't. Dealer is pretty proud of theirs.
They look the same to me, but the HD ones were $50.
Oh yeah, the HD box said that they were made in Asia somewhere, so I doubt that these are any better or worse than the "Officially Licensed" HD product.
That said, they do a great job of relocating the mirrors outboard about two inches, and my shoulders are no longer in view. So that's nice.
