So Depending on who you ask I've heard on a '15 SGS you can run 12" bars without cable extensions and I've also heard you can go up to a 14" anyone done this? And pics are appreciated.
I'm not up to date on the 15 but I believe it's 12 on the 13s and down.. Use the search button.. This question gets asked 20 times a week throughout the site, u probably won't get anyone taking the time to post pix of something so common, you can search that via Google
I put Wild1 WO578s (10") on my 14SGS, and the clutch line is tight. Running the electric cables in the bars would have been tight as well, but I had purchased Namz extensions just in case, so I had plenty of extra. If you left the cables out of the bars you could probably do 12" without extensions, but I don't know that the clutch line would reach. I can't imagine a true 14 working at all without new lines and cable extensions.
Also keep in mind that bars from different brands can measure very differently, so there is no definitive "yes, 12s or 14s will work".
Buy the most comfortable bars, and the cables/wires that are required. Dont sacrifice long term comfort for a few dollars. The additional benefit is that you replace your hideous garden hoses with nice cables.
