installing shift linkage

Default installing shift linkage
So I bought a shift linkage rod from Long Ride Shields, first off its looks way too long like 3" (no directions) and it looks like there is no bolts? To connect to the shift arms. Any advice hire to deal with this?

Sounds like you got the wrong length, guessing you have mid controls, and you got one for forwards... either way they come in many lengths

Check the web site it says for 1980 and up for touring.

+1 on the wrong length. There is some adjustment, but nothing like 3"... As far as connecting it goes, you'd need to post a pic.

My best advice is call LRS and tell them what model Harley you have and send part back for the correct one.
