Default Rider Backrest istallation

Hello all
This is my first post to the forum although I have been reading it for some time and have greatly appreciated the shared knowledge and at times the humour.
If I may ask question: I am waiting on delivery of a HD rider backrest to fit my 2002 RKC and Sundowner Seat. Just wondering - are these simple a bolt-on job to either mudguard or seat, or will holes need to be drilled?
Thanks

I don't have one, yet. But YES it is just a simple bolt on. No sweat. I checked it out on a few other rides, and seems simple enough. Some on here say it pushes you more up onto the tank, even using the adjustment screw. A lot of guys here seem to think that just bending the two black bars back a bit does the trick. Who knows, it may be perfect for you the way it is. But if not, you now know how to adjust it, if a few washers don't do it well enough. Why don't you give us without the cashola (right now) some detailed photos of the install. Good luck with it, I am sure you will be much more comfortable, before I am.

here is a pic of where the bracket (under the seat) will go once attached. Notice the two big plastic washers on the rear fender. The bracket mounts there and a third mounting point is behind the battery box. Generally you can plan on about 30 minutes to get the backrest installed and adjusted.

easy install unless youre getting the cable adjustable. took me longer to get that tiny bolt nut on the handle than the rest of the whole job
