I have noticed on my 07 SG that when I put the stand down, it really does not have an overly positive lock feeling...and depending on the angles invloved, it acually moves (back toward the bike) quite a bit before settling-in.
In other words, I put it down, put full weight of the bike on it, step off, and I can see it settle back a bit...
It's not going anywhere with the weight of the bike on it, but it's a touch concerning to see it slide back into a stable position when I get off...and it's NOT full forward.
Do you know what I am saying or is this gibberish?
They all do that, if you look closely at the top of the "jiffy stand" (H-Ds name for it) there is a positive detent that locks it in place when you put weight on it. Even so it does make you cringe just a bit untill it settles.
..bike upright..place stand down..lean bike onto stand..watch tab go up into slot (every time)as you place weight of bike fully on stand..leave in gear if on an incline..dismount and it shouldn't move. Watch it close if anybody else sits on bike..if they roll it forward a bit it can roll off stand.
