will 6.5" speakers fit in my 2012 SG? I have the 5.25" and bought some 6.5" and its like there is no way for it to fit, because of the brackets that attach to the speaker bolts, for the wire harness'
no need to go with J&M, go with biketronics and itll be more than just better than stock, on a budget you can get kappas, adapter rings, amp kit, amp and for a few more bucks a decent head unit and be set up, i have all the links for them if your interested
I had a set in my 09 SG, worked pretty good definitely better than stock.
Bigger is not always better, that's a sales pitch they're tossing at you. There's frequency response, linear excursion, resonance, sensitivity, and plenty of other factors that would make a 6.5 speaker sound better.
Having said that, yes a 5.25 to 6.5 adaptor is very common in our bikes.
You can put up to a 7.25" speaker in there with the adapters! J&M Audio and I'm sure there are others. http://www.jmcorp.com/index.htm I had a set in my 09 SG, worked pretty good definitely better than stock.
This would equate to taking out the HD garbage and replacing it with different garbage.

Well you know what they say, "Opinions are like ********, everyone has one"
LMAO!
I didn't mind them, but I'm sure there are many other options as I said earlier. We are only limited by our bank accounts when it comes to this stuff.
I have a 2015 Road Glide now, anyone know whats required to upgrade speakers in the shark? Or even what's in there now? Same speakers as the SG bat wing?
