speakers
That's because I have also been researching new speakers & amp upgrade for the stock HK stereo on my 09 flhtcu and know HD's stereo upgrades arent that good so was looking at mult mfg's inc Biketronis ,J&M etc and was leaning heavily towards J&M @ this point when i saw the very negative feedback in this thread calling it junk & souning like crap which concerned me.
I find it hard to believe that J&M could stay in biz as long as they have if their products on avg were really junk sounding like crap.
So the question is (Hopefully from guys that actually have J&M products) was this a 1x deal where 1 or 2 guys had an issue with a J&M product or is J&M's speaker & amp upgrade i am considering for the stock HK stereo on my 09 HD in fact really junk sounding like crap /maybe worse then the stock setup if i bought J&M's setup? (J&M PT#JHAKHCU06-3604SP / 4 speakers, front -7.25"-140w & rear 5.25" 120w & 4 channel amp with a total of 360watt's.)
I am not looking to upgrade to blow hvy metal as loud as i possibly can to be heard when cruising at 80-90mph with no problems,i am looking for that upgrade that gives a cleaner sound @ bit higher volume (not just starting to distort like stock setup) so it can be better hear it when cruising at 60-70mph (Stock Pipes/Exhaust) not trying to impress anyone or trying to blow people away in their car when i pass them with excessively loud music which is not my thing @ 60+yrs old though i do still play guitar in a band!/LOL!.
BTW,price isnt the question here ,i am mostly concerned with J&M's product itself being as possibly poor as has been made to seem by someone in this thread which concerned me with J&M being my choice at this point though i have yet to buy it.
Thanks.....Scott

Hey Scott, this awesome forum has an Audio Section and I would recommend heading over there and doing a little homework before pulling the trigger. Pretty sure you will find many feelings about the same as you have about the HD or Boom stuff. Better quality parts available for less $$$. Hope this helps. There are LOTS of people with your same 09 E glide ultra and are VERY happy with their results from following recommendations and guidance from the knowledgeable guys over there.

There's quite a few guys in the audio forum who have all ripped out JM and Hogtunes installs in favor of other products and are much happier now. Heck one guy was willing to give it away for free!! Here's a recent post with some feedback from a handful of guys who tried the JM stuff and went another route.

BTW,it's funny ,i am on here daily in the general touring section reading to learn more about HD's & also posting to help out where i can & totally forgot the fact we also have many specific sections here in hdforums targeting for example, audio/motor/trans/primary case/electrical/suspension etc that all have a lot of info specifically related to each of those areas of the bike.
Thanks again for your help.
Scott
