Ok so on my 2002 EG replaced the final drive belt and put her back together. I hit the start button and click. So the starter is not turning, and with multiple people helping out some things I had to guess at. Is there a piece that connects the starter and the Jack shaft? I was looking at the microfiche and it looks like part number does that. Anytime have a idea?

Start at the battery. Sounds like it so low or connection is bad that it does not have enough volt for the amps required to pull in solenoid .
Elect 101 maybe might help..

Rev. 111015
Some electrical 101 and a little more..

The first thing we did was check the battery, before and during hitting the start button. All was ok. The reason I am asking about a party the connects the starter to the Jack shaft is after the outer was put back on I found a tube that had keyway's in it.

Nipondenso starters are semi-notorious for getting dirty contacts in the solenoid. This results in the starter clicking, but no juice going to the windings so the motor doesn't spin.

It's an easy fix, as well band-aid repair. Remove the cover on the rear of the solenoid, pull the plunger. The band-aid is to clean the plunger and the contacts down in the cavity. The fix is to replace the plunger and contacts.

This is a rather thorough walk-thru of it: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/Starter.shtml

Go back through your steps when replacing the belt, and check all connections especially the ground cable that I think on your model mounts to the starter, through to the primary.

Does anyone know if part 30 ( coupler ) is keyed? And what does it do?
