So I wanted to say hello, I'm new to the touring neighborhood, after having a sportster and a fat boy I'm now the proud owner of a 2012 Road King Police bike. Purchased it from an outfit in Texas, it has a few minor issues and cosmetic blemishes from being an actual service bike that I'll be addressing. I've only had it for about two weeks and between work and this terrific Ohio weather I've only had it out for about 150 miles but so far I'm loving it. Bike handles great , rides smooth, great acceleration. I've already began the transformation to making it my own and accommodating a passenger to keep the wife happy. Ran into a snag trying to install some Bassani exhaust (it's a long story) and ended up going with some RC exhaust, not overly excited with those but they're mine now. I'll attach some pics, not very good but all that I have right now and I'll be asking some questions but I'll do that in another post. Thanks in advance for all your help, info, insight, inspiration and knowledge guys, this forum has always been a great resource for me!!
...ok I can only figure out how to attach one pic, maybe cause I'm on my phone, anyway you get the picture
Welcome and enjoy your ride. Hey look at the bright side. It has some personality already. I hate getting a new bike. The first scratches haunt you. If you actually ride they are inevitable. :-)
I put 200,000 miles on RK's. The police version has some cool features. I'm a fan of the hockey pucks on the bags and the tach. Very nice ride. Enjoy making it your own. My current one I've owned since new and wouldn't trade it for anything. I may buy another bike some day but mine's a keeper. Scars are tattoos with better stories. I tell myself that every time I look at the quarter sized dent in my front fender.

Yeah that's what I say, I feel a little more relaxed not worrying about marring a pristine paint job!!!
Welcome to the King club. I just made the same switch. I moved from an '05 Sporty Roadster to a King. Lil intimidating at first but a much nicer bike over all. Only thing I miss is the rolling burnouts and not worrying if it gets scratched..
