Default 09'-15' Screamin Eagle 4" CVO Question

Are these SE 4" mufflers louder than the stock mufflers on a 2014 SG?
Looking for something a bit louder but not overwhelming.
Also do they come with a removable baffle? I see a lot of these as new take offs for sale.

Buy a new X pipe performance header and use your stock mufflers. This gives decent throat while not pissing off the neighbors.

good news, bad news....

first the bad. the cvo bikes come with 110 engines that have to meet the same epa noise standard that the 103's have to. how do you think they manage to do that? yep, that pipe, in its stock form is going to actually be quieter than your stock exhaust.

but now the good news. the cvo pipes are great looking pipes, and can be had for a really decent price as take-offs. if you order the fullsac cvo cores (about $120), you can remove the stock baffling (3 spot welds holding it in, look on youtube for a video explaining how to do it), and replace with the fullsac cores (http://fullsac.com/product/2006-2016-cvo-power-core/). the 2.0 inch are the favorite, with a great balance between performance and sound. recommended to get the sleeves too. that holds the packing to the outer wall of the muffler. http://fullsac.com/product/2012-2016...ffler-sleeves/

in 2012, i bought my wife a new roadglide. she wasn't sure what exhaust she would want to go with, and she really likes to research stuff. so, as an interim gap, i found a set of the cvo mufflers, put in the 2.0 cores, and she was gonna use those until she decided what she wanted to go with. it's 2016 now, and she stopped looking about 3 years ago. she is totally satisfied with the sound, and the look of these pipes.

Could not agree more with Skratch!

Fullsac has CVO Baffles from 1.75" (a bit louder then stock) 2.0" (Best preformance) 2.25" and 2.50" Baffles. (Loudest)

Also, with sleeves, take the packing, cut it in half, use half of it and your good to go!

I went from the 2.25" to 2.50" and now have the 2.0" baffles with my engine build.

Changing Fullsac CVO Baffles are "Easy Peezy". Hell I can even do it!

Do the full sac slip ons sound louder if you still have your cats in?

Yes, any aftermarket pipe will.
However, a Aftermarket X-Pipe, stage 1, and Turner will make a much more drastic difference.

I have the CVO mufflers with non cat 2-1-2 head pipe, they sound great stock, that is where I'd start.
FYI the CVO mufflers have twice as many holes in the baffle as did my stock SGS muffler, 16 vs 8, probably for better flow.

Bare with me please... so 3.5" slip-ons are generally quieter than 4" slip-ons will be?
2" inlets are preferred by most?
I really want to leave my stock headpipes on (non-California)

Again as an example.... with the stock headpipes will the Reinhart 3.5" be quieter than the Reinharts 4"?

no direct experience so can't really say. I have heard that the 3.5'' are a little 'higher' pitch sounding than the 4''. what really makes the difference in sound is the size of the baffle. the 1.75 baffle is the smallest, so it is going to be the closest to stock. the 2.0 is a little louder, though not horribly so. I ride to work at 0500 in the morning and I don't have neighbors complaining. though I do try to be considerate. also, they do not interfere with the radio . then you can go bigger, though the 2.5'' is recommended for higher performance engines that need that additional breathing.

why are you so adamant about leaving the stock headpipes?
