when i got my 2010 RKC the wife complained about the comfort of the seat or lack there of. I sent the seat of to MCCs and had double memory foam installed and widened up her part, she said it was better but would start squirming after 100 or so miles. A buddy had one in his garage from a previous bike he said put it on and if she liked it he would make me a deal. We all loaded up on for a trip to Galveston, after about 30 miles she said "pay him" next red light he told me $200.00 it's on the bike ever time she rides, longest trip was 2600 miles in 5 days no saddle sore or monkey butt. regarding the butt ugly look, I put on a tour pak to cover it up,

I did 25,000 kms in 6 months on my Hammock, lots of 10 hour days. Never thought about my *** for 1 second.

What more can you say about a seat?

Get one.

Harley dealership has the older (2014) hammock on clearance for $420. Problem is it won't work with my adjustable rider backrest, which I need to have. The new hammock is $550. I have $200 gift certificate, so we are talking about $400 after taxes.

I am tall (6' 1") so reach isn't a problem. The seat looks like a couch on the bike, but I am willing to get past that for comfort. I can use the stock seat around town.

Who has the hammock and has been miles on it? Who like it and who hates it? What other options are out there that might be cheaper, just as comfortable and look better on the bike? For clarity, pain is in my tail bone and lower back. Just put apes on, so hoping that relieves some of that back pain. Hoping to find something that Harley stocks so that I can use that $200 certificate.
Keep lookin' on here you'll figure it out.
Better yet, go to your dealer and try one out..
Proof is in the puddin'.

Don't listen to what anyone says.
After all it's your *** and you sell yourself.

I've put over 40,000 miles on a hammock seat with many 500+ miles rides and 10 hour days with no problems. Would never use anything else. I've got the heated version as well.

Although I am not as quite as tall as you, the "extra" height may be welcome for you. As for the comfort? The Mrs. loves it and won't ride with the stock seat. As I have no a$$, the seat is very comfortable as I routinely ride all day and never have issues. One note, I do use a driver's seat back as I had surgery when decades ago. But this setup is wonderful and although I like the looks of my stock seat now that I have a new seat cover, I have no issues leaving the Hammock seat on. Good luck in your decision.

Thank you to everyone for your input. Looks like everyone can ride all day on a hammock which is exactly what I am looking for.

Who do you guys use to get your seats recovered? I can't change the profile of the big *** hammock sitting on the bike, but a good cover could make it look a lot better.

I run a solo seat unless I'm taking the wife. It sits taller thats for sure, but for the long haul, its really comfortable, and the wife loves it. plenty wide for her to wiggle around on, and while I feel too high, I don't think I'd use any other seat to travel on. I've had mine for years, and its held up nicely, granted I don't use it all the time. You will be comfortable despite your pain, I can say with confidence that you will be happy

What backrest do you have? I have the manually adjustable one from Harley. I bought in 2011 for my RGU and now use it on my 2015 Limited. It worked fine with the Hammock Seat from 2011 and works fine with the new one I bought is 2015. Can't imagine it won't work with a 2014 seat. By the way, I use the Hammock not just for the comfort under my ars, but because it slides me back more than the stock seats.
