How about pushing the pistons back in a bit? Then see if it still drags after you pump brake once pads seat on rotors. I ended up shimming my left side caliper with 1 flat washer on each bolt and I'm good now.

That was my next thought, but I have never had to do this before, and it leads me to think I messed something up in the process because the tire is the only thing that is different in the equation....

thank you! ill give it a go

Did you replace the bearings? There is a specific order to put wheel bearings in. If you don't follow it wheel may not be in right location.

the brake pad is not dragging, its the actual caliper that is hitting the rotor.

no I didn't, it was just a tire change.

I guess I misread that. I know it's tight but can you snap a picture of what you got going on?

It looks like your spacers have the same part numbers Check your rotor run out to make sure it didn't get tweaked changing the tire.

Alright fellas, I figured it out and this is somewhat embarrassing. I decided to start from square one. I took the rim and tire off the bike, calipers off, took the tire off and whipped out the measureing tools. I found that on one side of the wheel the bearing was recessed about 3/32" more than the other side. so thinking on how the rotor on the left side was rubbing I figured the recess was on the wrong side. this caused me to flip the rim around. Soooooo apparently I have been using the rim backwards this whole time! never gave me an issue till now.
then when I got the tire mounted properly, I installed and found there was still a little drag on it on the inside of the rotor, so I went to my local indy and got a set of rotor spacers. took the wheel off again and put spacers on then reinstalled. still drag, not much but it was there.
took it back off again and installed a slightly thicker set of spacers and re installed. BOOM it worked. tire spins freely, took it for a test ride over a few blocks and just used the rear brake. when I came to a stop, the rotors were cool to the touch. then took it out again and used front and rear brakes for stopping and it stops on a dime!

I want to thank everyone for their input and help on this issue!

we went to the Red River, NM Motorcycle rally this past weekend and didn't have a hiccup, weather was nice and scenery was well worth the 9 hour ride there and back!

Thanks Again Everyone!
