Default Brake light module help

Thinking about a module to convert my rear turn signals to additional brake lights, and possibly modulate all three. The MoCo module seems reasonable. Will it work with an inexpensive brake light modulator ? What is the best bang for the buck?

A little of the answer may depend on the year of your bike.

With the more modern can-bus system, you might end up tripping codes and creating problems for yourself. But I do not know that with any degree of certainty.

On older bikes, it's just a matter of wiring in a unit. You can do it by splicing wires easily enough, or making the connectors for plug in. More difficult and expensive, but no wiring cutting involved. You can buy units off ebay and such for under $10.

My bike is an 07 Ultra. It has the HD converter. It works well. Remember, when you convert the turn signals to run/brake/signal you have to change the lenses from amber to red.
I plan to add a modulator soon and don't expect to have any problems. In fact, I plan on adding a set of Custom Dynamics led strip as well at the same time. I haven't decided yet which or how many lights are going to flash but it's just simple wiring.
I can't really speak to the newer bikes with the can buss. I do have at least 1 friend who has a newer bike with a brake light that flashes so I'm guessing it's doable, I just don't know how.

Go with the Harley kit that comes with the red lens.Made to work with your particular model.

Default HD module

I'm ok with using the HD module. Has anyone used a brake light modulator in addition to the the HD module? I'd like all three to flash if possible. The bike is an 04, so no canbus.

The brake module that lights up the turns with the brake works great. I was advised that the blinking brake may be illegal and to check with LEO. I didn't bother.

I went with badlands it plugged into the orginal harness. run, turn brake from two strips of LEDs per light, along with license plate light. I had several questions during my selection, they walked me through. It's been operating without fail for the last 25k miles.

Depending on where you splice in the modulator you can have every light that lights when you hit the brake light up Or any single light or any combination. If you use one of the plug-n-play modulators you'll probably be looking at all of them flashing.

Badlands here too. EZ install. Just buy the right one for your bike.
