as from reading, if you use the wrong pads (if too hard), they will destroy your rotors.

On that note I've always stayed OEM but was willing to switch if I could've accrued the info I was looking for.

Which EBC pad is a direct replacement for OEM? (I seem to recall leaning at EBC back when, no cost savings w/ Lyndalls)

Thanks.
On my 2010 street glide the oem pads appear to be a semi sintered pad. They look to be a combination of organic compound with a brass colored metal mixed in. I am on my second set of rears and need to replace them. The fronts have been wearing reasonably, they have a little over 30,000 on them.

these are organic? easy on the rotors?

OEM HD pads are $$$.

Also, why is the picture 3 sets of rear pads?

ALSO, HD OEM they give you a new pin and clip for the rear pads. Does that come w/ these? Thanks.

Lastly, read up on reviews so I ordered 2 sets. Will give a whirl next summer. Don't mind OEM but the cost is out of bounds.

Just the pads. Not sure what you're talking about showing three sets of rear pads, but I use these and they are fine. And at a fraction of the price, they don't have to get the same mileage because pads are so easy to change. Tho I'm not seeing a difference in mileage.

Clips and pins don't often need changing, but I suppose you could buy oem occasionally, and still reduce you average price of pads by a lot

Brake pad compatibility with the rotors are critical.
For example, my mountain bikes have disc brakes. The rotors are marked "Resin Pads Only". Still, some people will try sintered pads at replacement time. Shimano states this is a no no, as those rotors are not of proper material or surface hardened for sintered pads. The rotors will become scored, then start squealing, then progress to honking like a goose. Irritating as you get. I hear other bikes with this issue from time to time, man that gets under my skin.
Stick with what works with your rotors in your application, follow a decent break-in procedure, and you will get good, quiet performance.

This is one area I stick to OEM. The work well in all conditions & last. I may be paying too much, but I do a lot of riding in the Blue Mountains & I'm confident in these pads.

Was told the EBC Gold is slight upgrade to OEM, with less dust deposit on your wheels! A plus/plus, I'm looking for a set, who has the best price?
