are the pads on the front and rear calipers the SAME on a 2008 Touring Ultra?

On my 2012 Ultra....trying to think back to last summer when I replaced front & rear, I thought they were different pad designs but cannot recall, have not had to replace pads on the old 08 I picked up last year.

I thought they went to Brembos as of 07, if so, then yes they are the same.

so with everyone buying non-OEM pads, what are you using for the rear pad BRAKE PASTE?

Its that little tube they give you with OEM pads you are supposed to smear on the back of the rear pads to prevent braking chatter.

These non-OEM pads I bought via suggestion in this thread did not come w/ any paste.

Clips and pins don't often need changing, but I suppose you could buy oem occasionally, and still reduce you average price of pads by a lot

bump....post above

subjective.

I have chrome wheels on my '15 Ultra.
I have Lyndall Z+ pads. Less to no dust.

Just ordered a set of Lyndall Xtremes for my bike, will get here tomorrow so I plan on installing and giving them a work. Never heard of having to put any sort of "brake paste" though-

A convo isn't over until the OP says it's over. You're not the OP.

No sir, first real touring bike. ****, first Harley. I'm still young and dumb myself, I just got lucky and got a decent price on an 07 king.

Hell, I'm just now coming up on changing the pads and I've already put 8k on the bike. If I'm missing out on some sort of magic paste, man I need to know that stuff!

sorry, but these pads absolutely 1000% suck. On your advice I bought some and installed...they do not stop the bike well at all, its actually scary. I actually got 2 sets, the unused set I am going to toss.

100% more brake-dust on the rims and fender too.

OEM is more pricey but you clearly get what you pay for.
