Sorry for all the questions. new to the harley world.
I have 2002 rkc with the hard leather bags.
I would like to have a set of hard painted bags.
I found a set of bottoms on ebay for cheap need painted. So I would need the lids hinges and locks I found the lids on Harley.com but not a hinge/lock set. Is this avail?
Mutazu is ok quality. Not as good as OEM, but most folks wouldn't notice they weren't stock. I believe they have the hardware kit for around 150, so you could have a complete set of bags for 350-400 bucks. Not bad, if vivid black works on your bike. Otherwise, you'll need to have them painted, that will run probably 300-400 bucks (and up), depending on how much prep work they need, and if there's a second color, pin striping, etc.
Check the classifieds on the custom bagger forums, too. There are guys building custom baggers, and want stretched bags with speaker lids, so they'll be selling the stock bottoms and lids. You'd just need the hardware and locks in that case.
Keep watching the classifieds, ebay and craigslist. There's lots of saddlebags for sale, if you get lucky, you might find a set in your color.
You'd probably be better looking for a full hard bags set with tops and hardware. I bought mine for $400 on craigslist and they were the right color! Full bags tops and bottoms and hardware. Deals can be had...just need to shop for em.
