Default Looking for a basket case bagger

So I've been thinking of doing a bagger project and decided to pick an HD as the one to do it. I'm just not familiar with them very much. Looking for opinions on which ones are best. Thinking early 2000s and newer. Any opinions guys?

Place in Virginai called "Kim Motor Co" has wrecked/salvage bikes.
Early 2000's have the best engines. '00-'02.

Means I'm going to be pulling everything off the frame and going through it bit by bit making it my own.

If you're thinking about buying a salvage titled bike, check your state's DMV before you buy. In many states, you need to have receipts for all major components used in the reconstruction. That usually means buying from a retail source, no ebay or craigslist parts, nor can you use parts that you've squirreled away, unless you've got receipts. If you can find a clean titled basket case, you have no restrictions on what parts you use, or where you source them.

I finished just such a project about 3 weeks ago. I started out with a wrecked '09 FLHTP that had only 5100 miles on it when it was wrecked. I enjoyed doing it, and am very happy with the finished bike. After all is done, I could have bought a nice running bike for less money, but it wouldn't be "my bike". Choose your project bike carefully and have fun.

Whatever model and year you choose, theres no price on the enjoyment and satisfaction of rebuilding one to your specs.May not be a money maker in the end but you will have the experience of doing it.
