Throttle By Wire
Good morning I know this has been discussed I had new bars put on my 09 FLHX and it started throwing a code p1510 my mechanic who lengthened the wires taped up the green connecter really well when we did the bars . Well yesterday when into a ride I shut it off than restarted the bike the throttle response was very sluggish I'm like wtf shut it off restarted and it was fine. But I went and bought a new TBW installed it I need to test run it yet it seems fine running in the garage but the code is still coming up even when I clear them what's going on anybody know. Thanks

Just had this happen to me while in Myrtle Beach..Rode from CT and on the way down threw the same code...with intermittent throttle response. Was worried that being it is bike week in Myrtle that there was no chance i was going to get taken care of quickly...long story short they got me in first thing in am and determined that i had an issue with the twist grip sensor....fixed and back on the road. Myrtle Beach Harley is a great friendly dealership...My bike is an 08 ultra with 62,000 on it...

I installed my own bars and lengthen all the wires including the TBW. If I'm reading right it seems your installer taped the wires. The wires should be properly soldered and shrink wrapped. As they may not be a problem right away but taped handlebar wires will eventually give you issues form the constant moving those wires will do inside the bars.
