Ok so I have a 2012 road king and recently purchased a second hand hoppe industries quadzilla fairing, I've upgraded the radio and speakers and added an amplifier,
I'm considering trying to add a vent to the fairing to try and help compensate for the heat. Anyone out there done this before and can lead me in the right direction for not only a vent that would work with this fairing, bit also a possible template as I'm obviously going to first need to cut out a hole for the vent since it doesn't normally come with one...
Not sure what you mean... if you're talking about a taller windshield I don't see how that would help, I'm trying to reduce the heat on the amp and radio. So I'm most likely going to add a fan inside the fairing.
I was hoping someone may have already attempted this or knows of a company that makes an aftermarket vent
So I can allow air to flow inside the fairing to keep all of my electronics cooler. I ride ALOT. And live in Florida
While I haven't used this on my bike, I have used these on race cars to direct air to oil coolers, brakes, etc ... Their are a thousand different styles to choose from. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hre-re205/overview/
These were designed for a windshield but I don't see why they couldn't be mounted in a faring. You could even paint them (from the inside) to match the faring. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/2714385...&ul_noapp=true
