Friends - was successfully able to remove the baffle padding and still not be obnoxiously loud or loose any performance...its a bit louder than before but definitely not deafening.

sure, I will post some pics of the tool GriffinDenim13FLHX suggested...once u have this tool...its all done jus making sure - you did take the allen screws at the bottom of the pipe that holds the baffle and the end cap right?
Yes took out both of them. Could only get it to move about 1/4".
I've been contemplating doing this since I bought the OS 450 Titan slip ons. Only hesitation is being too obnoxious and or losing low end torque. This is the first bike I've had with quiet-ish pipes and I like it at times. But people dont seem to know I'm in traffic with them since they dont hear me as much now...
